As for my "motherhood" issues lately - weaning to a cup, sippy, anything. I don't know what to do, but it's driving me crazy. Alex has no interest in taking any type of liquid out of sippy. We've tried many different kinds with no luck. I even gave him VERY diluted juice in the hopes that would work, but nope. He just looks at me and spits it all out. We do have some success with a regular cup, but it's very slow and he doesn't get a whole lot.
I've heard some good things about the Rubbermaid drink containers. Or another type of sippy cup with a straw. I'm going to pick each of those up while we're away in Nova Scotia and try them when we get back home.
I don't know what we'll do as my husband starts watching Alex when I go back to work. The poor boys will be left to battle it out!

Summer Part II
Our summertime fun continues despite the miserable weather.
Alex and I went to Harvey yesterday to see a family friend's baby. She is about three weeks older than him.We had a good time, even though spending four hours in a car with a 10 1/2 month old is not my idea of fun. Alex received his first kiss, so it was all worthwhile for him!
We went to Moncton last week with intentions of going to the zoo, but it was raining out so hard that all we did was go shopping. I even packed a picnic lunch, which we enjoyed in the shopping mall parking lot. We'll have to save the zoo for another day!
We're going to Truro on Thursday morning and coming home on Sunday. I'm very excited to get out and see my family. We'd like to go to Halifax to see the buskers if we ever see some sun! If not, more shopping will definitely be in order.
My neices are very worried that we won't make it to Shediac this year, but my nephew doesn't say much. We'll have just about two weeks before school starts, so hopefully we squeeze our annual trip to Parlee in.
I hope that everyone else is having a good summer and that you get to do everything you want to!

Summertime fun
I absolutely love summer even those gloriously hot days that make some people retreat indoors to air conditioned places. I think it all started when I was younger and my grandparents had a place on the Belleisle complete with private beach and sailboat. It was excellent. Fast forward about 10 years and we hardly ever go there anymore, but I still love all things summer because of all the time I spent there.
So far, we have had a great summer this year. We went to PEI for a much deserved first family vacation. We came home and have been busy since then, but really haven't gone very far from home. Alex and I have gone swimming a couple of times, played in the park and enjoyed some (lots in my case) ice cream. We've attended something almost every weekend - family get-togethers, my sister-in-law's 30th birthday, my cousin's wedding where Alex was the honorary ring bearer! I couldn't have asked for a better summer, which will make it even harder to go back to work in September!
Some things that I would still like to do:

Some things that I would still like to do:
- Road trip to Truro to see my aunt and uncle!
- Go to Parlee Beach. We usually take an annual trip with my brother's three kids for the day.
- Take a trip to King's Landing. Something that I've wanted to do for awhile now.
- Check out the Moncton Zoo again. I like it when I'm there, but afterward I always feel bad for the animals. I guess that's why it's at the bottom of the list.
My husband works every day of the week except Sunday, so it makes it hard to do a lot of things. He'll have to take a couple of days off, especially if it looks the weather will be nice!
So wish me luck, because I hope that we can cross all of those things off of my list.
PS: Alex has tooth number three and four in and he attacks far less than before!
